Blog Entry 1: Original Sin

The symbolism in "Original Sin: a short story" constantly symbolizes a dark theme of death, loneliness, and futile attempts to escape.  It is clear through the characters constant movement that he is constantly alone, and place by place, the character is being followed by either a paranormal figure or a haunting memory.  Lines such as "But it never came in the quantum glare of sun" is one of many lines that allude to these haunting moments in which a horrid figure or memory appearing only when the character is alone. The character seems to gain joy from being alone, as the character is constantly moving, and even gaining pleasure from the death of friends. Yet throughout the character's life he/she seems to ignore to interact with this memory or paranormal figure, possibly to self loathe.
